What is crossfit?
The challenge faced by people starting cross-fit trainings is to improve their strength, mobility and endurance. Thus, crossfit can be briefly described as a cross-sectional training, which allows a person to perform various exercises in almost every sport discipline. This is the case at the annual "CrossFit Games" competition organized by the Reebok brand. Competitors taking part in them have to prove themselves, for example, in swimming, running, pulling on the rod, or lifting weights.
Crossfit and safety
Crossfit is a quite demanding workout, so everyone should consult their doctor before starting workouts. Especially if we haven't had an active lifestyle before. In fact, however, most people can train crossfit - all you need to do is to choose the right set of exercises.
What does cross-fit training look like?
Cross-fit training is created on the basis of the principle of Training of the Day (WOD). Different sets of exercises may differ significantly from each other. Some focus only on strength training, while others are made up of quick sprints, rod pulls and pumps. The most important principle of crossfit is that it doesn't matter how many kilograms we are able to lift in one repetition. It is important how many of them will be in total, throughout the training.
An exemplary training can therefore consist of 100 repetitions of each exercise, which can be: pulls, pumps, stomachs and squats.
It should be remembered that trainings can be started with a much smaller number of repetitions and with each workout it can be increased. Of course, there is also no rule that all 100 repetitions have to be done in one series. Everyone can divide them into any number of series. However, it is very important that the training time is as short as possible.
Another training can consist of a 40-metre sprint and the maximum number of pulls on the rod. Such exercises are performed alternately in 20 minutes, in which we try to perform as many repetitions as possible.
When it comes to advanced training, it can consist of force accusations, dead thrust, renegade rowing and sprawl. It is very difficult, so it is intended only for experienced people.
Crossfit at home
Crossfit is a workout that can be done at home. We don't need advanced equipment to get started, but as we gain experience, we may at some point feel that we need more challenges. Then it is worth investing in the purchase of equipment, or start using the gym.
Training frequency
Beginners can start with 3 training sessions a week, or two combined with swimming or running. Advanced athletes often increase the number of trainings up to several times a day, so they train even twice a day.
