If you are going to the gym for the first time, it is worth knowing the local "savoir-vivre" and all the well-received practices, which will surely make you like with other practitioners. If you have been training for a long time, we also encourage you to read the article - it may turn out that you are unwillingly doing something that irritates other people. We watched what good practices are used at gyms. Check for yourself if these rules are clear to you.
Say "Hello"!
In many gyms we can meet with the fact that the barrier between people breaks down very quickly - we immediately go to you, we say "hello", we introduce ourselves. This applies not only to the staff, but also to the club members among themselves. Are you going into the fitness room? Welcome! Would you like to practice on a given piece of equipment and it is busy? Don't be embarrassed and ask if, for example, you can practice alternately. Fortunately, you can usually meet friendly people at the gyms, who are more willing to answer us than laugh or look stupidly.
Set aside instruments
What is the common feature of the gym? The fact that nobody likes how he has to look for a kettle or a barbell, because someone has not put them aside! If you practice and use something, don't leave it in the middle of the room and don't count on somebody to take up and take advantage of your position right away. This is a common mistake for beginners (and not only for them). Usually each instrument has its own place and it should be returned there - thanks to this there is no mess in the room and no one stumbles over the dumbbells. There are often dumbbells inscriptions with a gentle, funny motivation such as: "If you can't bear the burden, ask the girls at the reception desk - they will help you".
Exchanges
Each gym has its own limitations in terms of equipment. It is not possible to provide the same number of treadmills, bikes, atlases as those willing - especially during rush hour. So you have to deal with it somehow. When you see someone using a bench and taking breaks between series, ask them if you couldn't do it alternately - so they practice two people and not one. Usually there is no problem with such matters. Exercise by yourself and agree to such practices - it lies in an unwritten almost every decent club member!
The mess in the bathroom
Do you use the bathroom and showers? Clean up after you! The basic principle is that you should leave a place as you would like to find it yourself. Just rinse the cabin well, get rid of hair if any remain, do not splash too much and take away all your belongings (yes, empty bottles of shower gel also). Simple, but how nice for others habits!
Help
Sometimes somebody will ask you for help with safety precautions during the exercise. If you are able to do this, don't refuse - maybe in some time you will need help. However, if you know that the weight can be too heavy, just politely explain that you can't help. He or she will surely understand and appreciate that you were honest with him or her.
A good upbringing takes place at home and many people know how to behave at the gym. However, there are some things (insurance, exchange, order) that we get to know strictly in the club and we probably didn't meet with them earlier. It is worth to assimilate them so as not to go out on the beetle.
