Watch as an essential accessory for every runner
If we don't have a lot of running experience yet, choosing the right watch can be quite a troublesome task in our case. There is no shortage of both models and brands, and the differences between them make it clear that it is not easy to choose a really attractive solution. Fortunately, this does not mean at all that we are doomed to failure. If we define our own requirements, the choice will certainly become easier.
Meaning of functionality
Today's running watches are equipped with more and more surprising features. So they can at least monitor the work of our hearts, which makes it easier for us to assess our commitment and allows us to quickly find out when we should slow down so that we do not risk health problems. This helps especially those runners who "train for pulse", so they make sure that the rhythm of their run is determined by the beating of their hearts.
If you like forest paths and other unmarked areas, a watch can help you determine how long you have already travelled. This is possible thanks to GPS navigation. Of course, such measurements are never very accurate, but they are a great help and allow for a better evaluation of training progress. It should not be forgotten that in modern watches there is an option to program a workout as well as the time in which it is to take place. The next kilometers and changes of pace can be announced by means of a sound signal.
Overview of watch brands and models for runners
The runners themselves are able to identify brands perceived by them as those that deserve special attention, and one of them is undoubtedly Garmin. High-end watches from this manufacturer are not limited to GPS navigation, and one of their distinguishing signs is a built-in heart rate sensor that allows for immediate control of statistics on both form and condition. This manufacturer's watches are especially suitable for people running in the mountains, because they allow you to assess how effectively a given terrain is being covered.
Another brand that enjoys great recognition among runners is Suunto. Here, the Ambit model deserves special attention, especially for beginner runners. It allows you to monitor your heart rate, is equipped with GPS navigation, and also provides information about the geographical location of the runner and any difficulties that may result from it.
Also, the Polar brand cannot be described as an anonymous producer. The M400 is one of the cheaper watches, but it is worth noting that it has a characteristic long working time of up to eight hours when GPS navigation is on.
