The attic is a perfect place to furnish different rooms. It is possible to create interiors with an interesting atmosphere and increase the usable space of your home. However, kitchens are rarely arranged there. If already, this solution is used rather in houses where several families live at the same time, and the entire attic is arranged as a separate flat.
On the one hand, making the kitchen there is a great idea, but on the other hand, you have to remember about the characteristic construction of the attic and the ubiquitous slanting, which may make this task a little bit more difficult. Nevertheless, it is possible, of course, because even in the net we will find many kitchen projects in the attic. Of course, everything has to be planned here in advance and we have to take a closer look at the non-standard plan of the room where we are going to furnish our kitchen. It must be organised in such a way that the preparation of meals there or the free movement around it does not cause us any problems. The kitchen is a room where comfort and good organization is very important, and these are the issues we have to take care of here.
An element of each attic is a so-called elbow wall, which has a decisive influence on the height of the walls in this part of the building. It increases the height of the roof, thus increasing the usable area of the attic and allowing for the furnishing of living quarters there.
There are many ways to manage the slanting in the attic. In the case of a lower elbow wall, small cabinets or tables can be hidden there; in some cases it is also possible to hang shelves there. If the knee wall is taller, ordinary cabinets will fit comfortably at an oblique angle, and we won't have any problems placing any objects on them.
It is very important to choose the right windows here. In the case of the attic, the rule is that the area of windows should be about 10% of the floor area. Windows are also the primary source of ventilation in such a kitchen. Sometimes, however, they may not be sufficient to ensure the correct exchange of air - then you need to look for other ways to ensure effective ventilation. In a room such as a kitchen, it is absolutely essential. Conditions such as high humidity can quickly lead to many problems without ventilation, especially fungal and mould formation.
It is a good idea to choose for a kitchen a room that is not located on the sunniest side of the building. Everyone likes sunlight, but in the case of the kitchen in the attic it is better not to overdo it, because the room will get too hot.
