Spectacle lenses make our lives easier and support one of the most important senses for us - sight. They are used not only by people with sick eyes, but also by those whose eyes are often exposed to harmful effects. Which prescription spectacle lenses do we distinguish?
Types of prescription lenses
Prescription spectacle lenses are divided into different types. We stand out among them:
⦁ Prescription monofocal lenses
Formulated monofocal lenses are used to correct one defect in vision: myopia, where negative lenses are used, or hyperopia, when positive lenses are needed. Please note that glasses with this type of lens can be used for one type of activity, e.g. for reading only or for everyday use only. Therefore, they can be worn all the time or changed as needed.
⦁ Bifocal prescription lenses
Bifocal recipe lenses consist of two segments with different strengths. Their upper part is designed to correct distant vision, while the lower part is designed to correct visibility during reading. Bifocal spectacles can be used in everyday life. It is worth noting that the disadvantage of this type of lenses is the lack of correction of intermediate distances between the distant and closer planes, as well as the lack of aesthetic, visible segment for correction of reading.
⦁ Anti-reflective prescription lenses for computers
More and more people are interested in buying lenses designed to work with computers. No wonder - we spend more and more time in front of monitors, and for many of us it is related to our daily work. Such lenses have a special anti-reflection coating, which protects the eyes against harmful radiation from the computer screen. Eyes are protected and tire more slowly, which makes everyday work much easier.
⦁ Progressive prescription spectacle lenses
Progressive prescription spectacle lenses enable simultaneous correction of the vision of the distant and closer plan as well as the intermediate distances. These are lenses with a so-called liquid focal length, which depends on the point through which we look. This type of prescription lens is a modern alternative to bifocal lenses. They do a very similar job, but provide intermediate distance correction and are definitely more aesthetic because they look like monofocal lenses from the outside.
⦁ Prescription spectacle lenses for sport
Sport prescription spectacle lenses have been developed in response to the needs of active customers. They are characterized by a greater frontal curvature.
Coatings on prescription lenses
Modern optical wholesalers also offer special coatings that can be used to coat prescription lenses. We can order lenses with the following coatings:
⦁ HARD - characterized by the best varnish hardening in the production of H8 lenses,
⦁ SET - with lacquer hardening, multilayer anti-reflection, hydrophobic and antistatic coating,
⦁ HSMC - lacquer hardened, multilayer anti-reflection, hydrophobic and antistatic coating,
⦁ LOTUS - has an antistatic effect and a special liquefying effect on water and oily substances in equal measure,
⦁ STEEL - a highly scratch-resistant oleophobic coating that is antistatic and prevents the build-up of dust and dust particles. Also contains multilayer anti-reflection.
